Brides on a Budget

Weddings are not small feats (or fetes) … Or are they?

Recent figures from The Wedding Report show that 62 percent of brides are slashing their budgets, of which more than 37 percent say they’re cutting more than half of their original budget.

Further, new figures from Bankrate show that 40 percent of consumers say they would not mind if their credit lines disappeared, with nearly one third saying they planned to charge less on their credit cards in 2009; only 5 percent said they would be devastated if they lost access to their credit lines.

“Less is more” surely is one of the trends we’ll be seeing in 2009, but it will be interesting to see how brides adapt to a cash-only mindset and say goodbye to the “buy now, pay later” mentality for their big day.
